Feminist Book Club
Boston NOW's Feminist Book Club
This is our reading group for anybody who loves to read and identifies as a feminist.  We'll be reading a variety of books that may fall into one of the following categories:
  1. Written by a feminist and/or a woman.
  2. Look at how gender, race, class, sexuality, ability/disability, ethnicity, nationality, etc shape us and our views of the world.
  3. Spark conversation about social justice and gender equality.
  4. Have strong female characters.

But most importantly it's a space for people to come together and discuss literature with other feminists!

The club is open to both NOW members and non-members.

All meetings will be on the first Thursday of alternating months.  Check back here to see upcoming dates and books.

Join our Goodreads group to keep track of books and communicate with other members.

Date:    Thursday, October 14, 2010
Time:    7:00 - 9:30 pm (new time)
Where: Community Change - 14 Beacon St. #605 - Boston

We will be discussing two books:

  • God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
  • Can't Buy Me Love: How Advertising Changes the Way We Think and Feel by Jean Kilbourne

If you haven't read all or both books, please don't be discouraged - come anyway!  Food and friends are welcome!
