- 1973 roe v. wade - u.s. supreme court
legalizes abortion.
- 1979 bellotti v. baird - u.s. supreme
court grants each state the power to enforce parental consent laws with
a bypass option to be decided by each state.
- 1981 massachusetts becomes the strictest
state in the country by requiring dual parental consent. the state provides
only one other option for women: a judicial bypass, a process that can
cause unnecessary delays.
